The Nordkette Vertical Run is already a firm favourite in Innsbruck. The route is a challenge for everyone and the backdrop of the steep mountain range and the provincial capital is absolutely unique. There is no comparable event and it is certainly a highlight for every athlete!
Over 6.7 kilometres, a total of 1,332 metres in altitude have to be overcome. The run starts on 20 September at 10.00 am in Innsbruck and climbs up to the Seegrube. The famous ‘Stairway to heaven’ awaits in the final third of the run.

The route
- Nordkette Vertical Run - 6,7 km ↑ 1332 hm
- The legendary vertical route from Innsbruck to the Seegrube. From the Löwenhaus, you walk a few metres alongside the Inn until you cross it via the Hans-Psenner footbridge and then take the more natural Heinrich-Süß-Weg to the Alpenzoo and on to the Hungerburg. At the Nordkettenbahn cable car, you then turn off into the countryside again and just follow the cable car platform up to the Seegrube. A classic that you have to master in the last third is the ‘Stairway to heaven".
